rail?<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div id=\"wd-6a4372c62aa80\" class=\"wd-text-block wd-wpb reset-last-child wd-rs-6a4372c62aa80 text-left \">\n\t\t\t<p>Basically, anything with <strong>a groove<\/strong> is referred to as a rail. Counterparts can be inserted into or attached to this groove\u2014in classic profile systems, using so-called <strong>groove blocks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In an airline rail, this groove is interrupted at regular intervals. The <strong>distance between the holes is 25 mm<\/strong>, creating a regular hole pattern into which so-called airline fittings can be flexibly inserted.\u00a0These fittings are the counterpart to the rail: They are inserted into the hole pattern, locked into place, and then form a stable mounting point for carriers, straps, or accessories.<\/p>\n<p>What is often underestimated here is that the load-bearing capacity of these small fittings is enormous; depending on the model, a single airline fitting can <strong>hold up to 800 kg<\/strong>. Please note, however, that the rear doors are the limiting factor, which is why <strong>we recommend a maximum load of 50 kg per door<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The combination of airline rails with these strong fittings creates a <strong>stable, flexible<\/strong>, and\u2014above all\u2014<strong>removable connection<\/strong>. No matter which rail system is installed on your van, our products will fit thanks to the various fittings available.<\/p>\n<p>We use <strong>50 mm wide airline rails<\/strong> for our system because they offer the right combination of <strong>stability, contact surface, and flexibility<\/strong>. That\u2019s why we exclusively sell <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pushcomponents.com\/en\/campervan-back-rack\/pushrack-l-track-set\/\">airline rails<\/a><\/strong> in our shop.<\/p>\n<p>The rails are exposed 24\/7 to the elements\u2014rain, snow, sun, dirt, and salt\u2014and must withstand thousands of kilometers on the road. That\u2019s why it\u2019s extremely important that the rails are installed properly and fit the rear doors of your van well. If they also harmonize with the vehicle\u2019s design, everything simply comes together perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>For this reason, it\u2019s important to us not to offer off-the-shelf products. \">\n\t\t\t<p>To ensure that installation is secure and as straightforward as possible, our airline rails are <strong>pre-drilled and countersunk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This means that the screw holes are prepared, the <strong>countersinks match the screw heads<\/strong>, and <strong>the screws sit flush with the rail<\/strong>. As a result, no screw heads protrude, which could later catch on something or prevent the rail from lying flat.<\/p>\n<p>We use <strong>stainless steel screws with black heads<\/strong>. We use stainless steel because the rails are mounted on the exterior of the vehicle and are constantly exposed to wind, weather, and moisture. We use black heads because they <strong>blend in visually with the black rail<\/strong> and don\u2019t stand out like a foreign object on the surface.<\/p>\n<p>These may sound like <strong>minor details<\/strong>\u2014and they are. In practice, however, it became clear that these end caps offered little functional benefit: They can <strong>come loose<\/strong> and <strong>get lost<\/strong>, and they also make <strong>installation a bit more cumbersome<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why, since <strong>May 2025<\/strong>, we\u2019ve been shipping our rails in a <strong>new design<\/strong>. Our current rails are <strong>beveled<\/strong> and <strong>rounded<\/strong> at the ends and <strong>fully black anodized<\/strong>. This gives the rails a more <strong>premium look<\/strong> and <strong>eliminates any<\/strong> <strong>risk of injury<\/strong> from sharp edges, <strong>even without end caps<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, we didn\u2019t make this decision on our own. In this process, a special powder coating is applied electrostatically to a metal component and then placed in an oven, where the coating first melts and then cures. This applies a <strong>layer of color<\/strong> to the surface. This works very well for many components. However, there\u2019s a problem with airline rails: Fittings are regularly inserted into the rail, moved, subjected to stress, and then removed again. With powder-coated rails, this can cause the paint to <strong>chip or peel off<\/strong> over time in <strong>areas under stress<\/strong>. This isn\u2019t ideal, especially for a component that\u2019s constantly in use and located on the exterior of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>With <strong>anodizing<\/strong>, the process is different: The rail is immersed in a special bath and an electric current is applied. This creates a protective layer that isn\u2019t simply sitting on top of the material but is <strong>firmly bonded to it<\/strong>. As a result, the black color is significantly <strong>more resistant<\/strong> to chipping. That doesn\u2019t mean anodized rails are completely indestructible. They can still get scratched. But the coating doesn\u2019t chip off, as is common with painted or powder-coated surfaces.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important to know:<\/strong> Harsh chemical cleaners can trigger chemical reactions on anodized surfaces. This can cause purple or blotchy discoloration. That\u2019s why we recommend simply cleaning the rails <strong>with water and a mild detergent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]\n\t\t<div id=\"wd-6a4e20448465e\" class=\"title-wrapper wd-wpb wd-set-mb reset-last-child  wd-rs-6a4e20448465e wd-title-color-primary wd-title-style-default text-center  wd-underline-colored\">\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"liner-continer\">\n\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"woodmart-title-container title  wd-font-weight- wd-fontsize-l\" >The Thing About Screws and Nuts<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div id=\"wd-6a4e20e57cb0f\" class=\"wd-text-block wd-wpb reset-last-child wd-rs-6a4e20e57cb0f text-left \">\n\t\t\t<p>We realized internally\u2014at the latest during a <strong>one-day workshop focused on tools, screws, and sockets<\/strong>\u2014that Lenz really does think of <strong>every detail<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Because in our system, it\u2019s not just the rail that\u2019s important. Every connecting part has its purpose, too.<\/p>\n<p>All airline fittings in our system use <strong>M8 threads<\/strong>. M8 is a metric thread and offers an excellent combination of <strong>stability<\/strong>, <strong>availability<\/strong>, and <strong>ease of use<\/strong> for our application.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>countersunk screws<\/strong> sit <strong>flush<\/strong> with the air rail. <strong>Flanged screws<\/strong> provide their own bearing surface because they have a kind of <strong>integrated washer<\/strong>. <strong>Torque-limiting screws<\/strong> don\u2019t require a <strong>traditional tool connection<\/strong> and are suitable for applications where screws are not meant to be loosened. <strong>Self-locking sockets<\/strong> with a plastic ring ensure that connections <strong>don\u2019t come loose<\/strong> due to vibrations.<\/p>\n<p>And then there\u2019s the <strong>knurled socket <\/strong>(in German: R\u00e4ndelmutter).<br \/>\nOr, as we sometimes call it internally: <strong>the mother of all sockets.<\/strong><br \/>\nIt is the <strong>oldest component<\/strong> in the <strong>PUSH universe<\/strong>. A knurled socket can be <strong>turned by hand<\/strong> without any tools at all. Our version is 6 mm high and therefore fits perfectly with our mounting system.
